The Lighthouse in the numbers

The Lighthouse began in 2013 as the ICEERS Support Center. Since then, we have assisted more than 4,000 people.

In the last 12 months, our team of professionals and volunteers has addressed 350 integration cases and over 500 medical inquiries.

Our principles

  1. We are accessible.

As a non-profit organization, we offer services for the benefit of as many people as possible. At the same time, offering integration sessions and responding to questions about medical interactions requires ample resources and qualified professionals. We ask for donations to support our work, but no one is ever turned away due to a lack of funds.

  2. We are culturally aligned with the involved communities.

We do not stigmatize people who have experiences in altered states of consciousness. We do not pathologize complex experiences that may be difficult to understand from a biomedical framework. We respect and embrace the diversity of perspectives and worldviews of the groups of people who have carried the knowledge of traditional Indigenous medicines.

  3. We are rooted in the community.

The best responses to the challenges that arise from traditional Indigenous medicines often come from the community itself. That's why we co-develop tools rooted in the culture, experience, and wisdom of the communities involved in these practices.

  4. We strengthen community bonds.

We promote better practices, knowledge, and safe, conscious, and respectful experiences with traditional Indigenous medicines. We focus on empowering individuals seeking assistance by equipping them with the necessary tools and education to navigate and apply this knowledge independently and effectively. Through respectful interaction and the sharing of experiences, we nurture a collaborative learning environment that honors Indigenous wisdom, encourages self-discovery, and underscores individual responsibility in upholding and preserving ethnobotanical traditions.
